19 Jun 2025Arctic Aviation Hub has now installed a Drone-in-a-Box system – DJI Dock 2 with Matrice 3TD – at Skellefteå Droneport. The system enables fully automated drone missions, which opens up new possibilities for remote monitoring, inspections and rapid interventions in all weather conditions.
Representatives from Skellefteå Airport, Skellefteå Kraft and the Swedish Fire Service participated in the training that was conducted in connection with the installation. The aim is to promote local understanding of the technology and explore how it can be used in various community services.
“For a smaller city like Skellefteå, this type of system can mean major benefits – not least through increased efficiency, reduced need for manual interventions and improved availability of data in real time. It is a step towards smarter, more resilient infrastructure – driven by technology on the ground and in the air”, says Annelie Viksten, Business Developer at Arctic Aviation Hub
