INGERA
INGERA brings together eleven partners from seven countries to support the development of the next generation of regional aircraft with zero or low emissions.
The project will explore new aircraft propulsion concepts and how they can be integrated into air traffic management and airport operations. It will also look at Trajectory Based Operations and how Airport Operations Plans (AOPs) can be better connected with Network Operations Plans (NOPs).
Another important part of the project is to assess the environmental and economic impact of these new solutions.
INGERA stands for “Integration of the Next Generation Regional Aircraft for Zero/Low Emission Aviation” and is funded through the EU Horizon Europe programme.

Skellefteå Airport will lead a work package focused on preparing airport processes and infrastructure for the safe and efficient integration of hybrid and fully electric regional aircraft.
The work will examine how these new aircraft may affect airport operations, from ground handling and turnaround times to charging, refuelling, gate usage and airport capacity.
Key objectives include defining baseline Airport Operations Plans (AOPs) and aligning them with Network Operations Plans (NOPs). The project will also assess how new propulsion and energy systems affect ground operations and determine how refuelling and recharging times may influence slot allocation, gate usage and airport throughput.
Based on the results, Skellefteå Airport will develop recommendations for updated Airport Operations Plans, including necessary changes to infrastructure, safety procedures and A CDM integration. The work will also be aligned with the SESAR Master Plan priorities for Green ATM, multimodality and digitalisation.
