Skellefteå Airport

The ultimate place to test, develop and commercialise electric aircraft, eVTOL and charging solutions in a real environment and in close collaboration with local partners if needed. Probably one of the best places in the world for winter testing of airborne vehicles and ground equipment.

Skellefteå Airport has a 1 MW airside power supply dedicated to electric aircraft, eVTOL, high power charging, energy storage etc. and is in the top 3 in the world regarding movements with electric aircraft thanks to Green Flight Academy that are operating one of the world’s most sustainable flight academies at the airport.

Skellefteå has a growing demand for transportation of people and goods to, from and within the region. Skellefteå wants to implement battery- and hydrogen aircraft as soon as possible as part of a sustainable short-haul network in northern Sweden and Finland. Skellefteå Airport with its power supply and strategic location is ready to serve as a hub for this kind of traffic. Potential routes and other aspects have already been investigated. Therefore, Skellefteå Airport is ready to discuss commercial business cases with developers of aircraft and eVTOLs.
