02 Feb 2026Arctic Aviation Hub has during the autumn and winter carried out five digital pitch events focusing on drones and the future of air mobility. In total, around 30 companies from across Europe participated. The pitch events have delivered clear results through new companies entering the test environment, increased investor dialogue, and stronger collaboration within the sector.
Matching companies with investors
One direct outcome is that five companies have chosen to move forward and use Arctic Aviation Hub’s testbed at Skellefteå Droneport to test and develop their technologies. In parallel, the companies also pitched to investors, with Arctic Aviation Hub actively matching them with relevant investors in Sweden.
As a result of the pitch events, several companies have established investor contacts and, in some cases, secured investors for their businesses, strengthening their opportunities for continued growth and commercialisation.
“By combining a testbed, business development and investor dialogue within the same format, we create an efficient pathway from innovation to market”, says Magnus Wiklund, Business Developer at Arctic Aviation Hub.
Future development projects
Beyond testing and investment, the initiative has significantly expanded the network within the sector. Ongoing dialogues are now leading to the planning of several development projects together with drone companies, both in technical testing and training.
Planned establishment in Skellefteå
Another important outcome relates to soft landing, where one of the participating companies is now planning an establishment in Skellefteå. This strengthens the region’s position as an attractive location for international companies in advanced drone and aviation technology.
“Attracting projects, investments and new establishments shows that Skellefteå and Arctic Aviation Hub are seen as a long term relevant environment for innovation and growth within the sector”, Magnus Wiklund continues.
Arctic Aviation Hub views the pitch events as a strategic tool to connect innovation, test environments, investors and regional development, and plans to further develop the concept going forward. The pitch events were carried out in close collaboration with AeroEDIH and VNTRS AB.
