13 Mar 2025Skellefteå hosts one of this year's most exciting conferences on the future of aviation and space. On April 10–11, leading players will gather to dive into groundbreaking innovations in electrification, hydrogen, SAF, and the future of fighter jets. Over the course of two intensive days, participants will gain insight into the rapidly growing sector and visit some of Skellefteå's most innovative facilities.
“Skellefteå wants to contribute to the development of sustainable aviation and space technology. This conference offers a fantastic opportunity for sector players to meet, share knowledge, and drive innovation forward. Together with our partners, we look forward to exploring new collaboration opportunities that can help shape the future of aviation and space,” says Henrik Littorin, Program Manager, Arctic Aviation Hub.
Over the two-day conference, participants will have the opportunity to visit Green Flight Academy, where they will get a hands-on experience of the technological developments driving the aviation and space industries forward, with a focus on electrification and sustainable fuels such as SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel).
There will also be a visit to Skellefteå Droneport – one of Europe’s largest urban drone airports – which is nearing completion and will be used for testing, development, training, and commercialization of drones and supporting technologies. The location is a perfect place for winter testing in a cold and harsh climate.
The conference also offers a unique opportunity to network and develop ideas together with leading players in energy, aviation, and space. Participants will gain insights and inspiration from future initiatives based on the work with NRIA Aviation 2024 and Innovair‘s next steps, as well as have the opportunity to discuss the future of fighter jets and NATO’s impact on the industry.
The conference will begin on April 10 at 09:30 at Skellefteå Airport and end on the afternoon of April 11.
A warm welcome to Skellefteå and a conference focused on the future of aviation and space!
